The concept of environment is defined by the notion that every society resides in a particular physical setting, interacting with its physical environment. Locations and its environments – urban, rural, isolated, inland, and coastal – affect society’s opportunities, as well as their constraints. The values and attitudes people hold in relation to their environment greatly affect the interactions between society, persons, culture, and most importantly, the environment.
